Tiny CC

Clock here for FSU  home page http://tiny.cc/ni93m . This is a an example of a tiny cc. The URL isnt long to begin with but when you get to some sites and they are extremely long you can use this instead.

Movie

This is such a nice tool. This class continues to teach me new ways to make my life easier. I have been sending out e mails with my powerpoints for different purposes and some people believe it or not do not know how to operate a powerpoint presentation. That is still amazing to me but it is out there. I am able to put my presentation on dvd now and send out instead of working through powerpoint.

NAEP Graphs

If you click here you can access the site with all of the statistical data. If you click here you can access the site to create your own graph as I did. Once you get your information from the first site you just plug in the data into the correct slots and it creates whichever type of graph you desire. It is a very easy way to form a visual image of numerical data. The national data is higher than the state of WV. WV is a step behind the nation when it comes to avg math scores for both 4th and 8th grade. However both, WV and the nation have seen an increase around the same avg. They both are steadily rising over time and seem to be at a similar rate.

Batchego

This is an unbelievable tool. To be able to have multiple people accessing the same data base and actually edit it is very nice. It use to be everybody had to keep a file on their own information and then somebody merge them all together for one master copy. With that option you take a chance of data entry errors while merging that are a common problem.

Wordle

Wordle: Any Given Sunday

This is a very neat way or creating a collage of words into a picture. I typed in the any given sunday speech from the football movie. I am going to create some of these for the upcoming offseason that has motivational and inspirational words to hang around the facility for our players. This is very creative and easy to use. It does not take much computer skills to be able to use worlds. It is EXTREMELY user friendly!

Animation presentation

Here is the link to my animation This was a very creative way to animate a football play. It would be a great way to catch the attention of a presentation I could give in a coaching seminar. I am going to use this in the offseason for actual teaching purposes for our kids. I could use a different format but being able to create plays and have them execute by clicking a button is VERY helpful. It can show the kids how you want a certain play to be ran on an X and O board that moves. There is software out there that cost a lot of money to do this and this power point feature allows me to do that.

Labels

This is my Labels powerpoint. I did my powerpoint on the dimensions of a football field. I am a football coach and that is what I want to teach. I know it may not be in a classroom setting but it is a field of study that I plan on teaching for a long time to come. Understanding the field dimensions in this game is very important. Knowing how much space there is and where your body is in space is critical and if you understand how much space there is between you and your opponent it can be very beneficial.

Powerpoint

This is my powerpoint on flexibility. I am an exercise science major with a minor in nutrition. I love the fitness industry and all of the different components in includes. Flexibility is an often overlooked facet of health and is very critical. The presentation touches on what flexibility is and how you can adapt it to your lifestyle. There are intuitive videos found on youtube and also information describing each type.

Jing Screencast

This is my screen cast on how to snip. I LOVE this Jing software. It is very helpful and can be used in many different sitations.

Jing Image

This software is very nice. I had no idea anything like this even existed. I found out how to use this and have already used it in my every day life twice in the past 24 hours. Very nice!

Snip

Apex is the software I use to breakdown tape for football opponents. I sipped a picture of this after I created a shortcut on my desktop.

Self Portrait

This picasso was a really neat site. It allows you to be really creative and artistic. I am not that artistic myself and it allowed me to express myself through art.

Learning Style test

The test said that I am a Kinesthetic learner. I get this answer every time  I take a test like this and it is 100% correct. I am a hands on learner and absorb the information so much better when I can relate it to my life or actually get to learn with a hands on project. All people are different and will learn in different ways. Knowing how people learn is a great way to try and help them when dealing with them in the classroom. Not everybody will learn by charts and graphs but some will. I can use the different angles of teaching to get to each student in their own way.

Learning Style

I have a taken learning style tests before and they are usually accurate. I am a hands on learner that likes to do and learn by example and by trial and error. I do not like to read how to do things or study a book for information. I would rather do somethign more practical and be able to relate it to things in my life and how I can apply it in my world so I have a better understanding.

Personality test results

The test we took indicated that I was correct in my guess. I fall under the Guardian temperament. It states that I enjoy working with a team. This is correct and that is why I have always enjoyed working in groups in the classroom and will use them when I teach. The organization of this will be vital as with any classroom but the expectations must be clear cut so everybody knows what is expected and how things should be done.

Personality temperament

I think my personality would be guardian, idealist, artisan, and last rational based off of the descriptions given. I do not believe that I fall under any one given temperament but rather fall under a scale of each in the order I mentioned above. With that being said it would fall as 60% guardian, 25% idealist, 10% artisan, and then 5% rational. The guardian characteristics seem to fit me the most. I like to have fun but take an enormous amount of pride in my job and responsibilities. The idealist in me thoroughly enjoys working with people and bringing out the most in everybody. I am a football coach and this part of me is probably why I enjoy doing what I do so much.

Intro

Hello ALL!!

My name is Shahram Shafii and I am from Charleston, WV. I graduated from Fairmont State Univ. in 08 with a Exercise Science degree and minor in Nutrition. I played football for FSU and thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the fighting falcons. I took a job back home after graduation with Stryker Ortho that lead me into the field of medical sales. I loved the oppurtunity and had a great time with new experiences and meeting all the new people but decided that career was not for me at that time. I have had a passion all my life to help people and play sports. So I decided to go back to school and become a football coach. I am now at FSU finishing grad school and helping coach my alma mater. I love every second of it and would not change it for the world. I get to help lead young men as well as coach football. This is a dream come true and I am very thankful for my oppurtunities to be here. I wish you all the best of luck this year in school and in your careers. Thanks for reading! Take care and God Bless!
